Farmers Market Today

It's Recyclables Day

57 degrees and clear at 6:00 a.m.

From WKTV: "A weak wave of low pressure brushes by Central New York, bringing much needed rainfall to parts of the area. Morning sunshine quickly fades behind clouds. Afternoon showers are likely, especially south and west of Utica. High temperatures in the upper 70s, with the high occurring early due to the rain.

Drier weather returns on Thursday, with a slight chance of a thunderstorm. Turning warmer and more humid Friday, with highs in the mid 80s.

Our streak of beautiful summer weekends is likely coming to an end this weekend. Thunderstorms are likely both Saturday and Sunday."

Although there were some fairly impressive "thunder heads" on Sunday afternoon, and it DID rain a little, the ground is still very dry.

Fields of soy beans, corn and grains in Hanover look lush ..............

............................... but plumes of dust follow tractors, everywhere.

House painters, on the other hand, have had no complaints about the fine weather. Work is under way at Mrs. Dabro's on Sanger Hill Road .............

................ and here in the village at painter Bill Vetter's own home on Osborn Avenue.

On Main Street

Darlene Knight's new consignment shop is open!

When I spotted her bringing a wonderfully varied collection of items out onto the sidewalk, on Monday afternoon, she said that she will be having the actual "Grand Opening" during the Bouckville Antiques Show week which starts on August 15.

FOR THE RECORD

Have a great day, everyone!
