***********

Today is Recyclables Day

Garbage Collection is tomorrow.

***

It's 57 deliciously cool degrees at 5:00 a.m.

WKTV's forecast: "From above average temperatures to below average temperatures in just one day here in Central New York. A cool, dry Canadian air mass has settled into the area. Temperatures will only be in the low 60s this afternoon with mostly cloudy skies. Gusty northwest winds will continue again this afternoon, picking up between 15-25mph. A sprinkle can't be ruled out in the Adirondacks and higher elevations.

Skies gradually clear out this evening and the winds die out. This sets the stage for a chilly night with the potential for patchy frost in the Adirondacks. Overnight lows will fall into the 30s.

Warming up with sunshine on Friday. The outside threat for showers and thunderstorms over the weekend. Otherwise sunny with highs in the upper 70s."

Yesterday was the fourth "scorcher" in a row. These "girls," keeping cool in a duck pond next to Brouillette Road, had a good idea!

Looking frosty --- Black Locust trees are in bloom.

My oriental Poppies always open on June 1 ........

.............. and that's when I start looking for poppies scattered here and there in the field of rye next to Edie Eastman's home on the way to Deansboro!

IN THE MAIL

From Sandy Martin, this "social note" --

"The Colorful Bonnets May meeting was held at the Blue Dragon Cafe in Clayville. The meeting was hosted by Carol and Mary Lou. The menu consisted of a cup of Broccoli and Cheese Soup, a Sagittarius Wrap with turkey, roasted red pepeers, apples, cranberries and spinach, with Red
Velvet cupcakes for dessert. All was homemade and cheerfully served.

The cafe also sells artwork, pottery and jewelry and is a very interesting place to visit. After lunch games were played to award prizes of spring flowers. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful time was had by all.

June's get together will be at Paolo's Finish Line Cafe & Shoppes at the Finishing Line in Utica and will be hosted by Milly and Irene."

(Thanks, Sandy!)

FOR THE RECORD

I understand that the Blunts, from Long View Farms in Deansboro, were there much of the day, but when I stopped by, at 4 o'clock, the Park was empty.
