It's garbage day.

32 degrees and foggy in the Hollow at 6:00 A.M.

WKTV's weather forecast: "Sunshine is expected tomorrow (Thursday) with the storm track well to the south. With the sun, temperatures will rebound to near or just above 50.

A steady, gradual warmup is expected as we head into the end of the week and the weekend. Temperatures should climb well into the 50's Friday with partly sunny skies.

A warm front brings the threat for rain showers by Saturday Night, followed by a spike in temperatures on Sunday. We could be flirting with temperatures well into the 60s by Sunday and Monday!

IN the MAIL

An interesting note from Louie Langone: "So far this year, at the wastewater plant, I measured 173"* of snow, compared to last year's total of 119".

* That's almost 14½ feet!

Thanks, Lou! That's enough snow, isn't it? It can stop, now!

To stir your memory, Lou also sent along these photographs of the fire that destroyed the Sangerfield Inn on April 10, 1992.

Yes - I remember that. Do you?

Thanks, Lou.

(Louie Langone is the official Historian of the Waterville Fire Department.)

YESTERDAY

The afternoon was gray and drizzly, but these kids didn't notice the rain!

The DPW's street sweeper was out and about .............

...... and, for those with smaller clean-up jobs, Tom Morgan had a bright collection of rakes, brooms and spades in the sidewalk showroom.

Aha! There are Mets fans on E. Bacon Street.

(The Sox have now lost five in a row and the Yankees game was rained out.)
