Aaahhhhh! Summer!

Cheers to the DPW's Summer Crew, the members of the Garden Club and folks at Foodking for taking such good care of all of the wonderful planters all along Main Street, and also to Virginia Sparks - a new member of the Garden Club - who has "conquered" the Schoolhouse Courtyard and is planning to start work along the banks of the little brook that runs through Schoolhouse property! She's looking for donations of shade-loving plants for that project. You can contact her at Jennysparks2u@yahoo.com.

From WKTV: "A return to pleasant weather today as an area of high pressure takes over. Today's forecast calls for sunshine, low levels of humidity, and high temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80.

Increasing clouds tonight, with overnight lows in the mid 50s. We'll introduce a chance of thunderstorm by Friday afternoon as a weak disturbance passes to the south.

A beautiful weekend of weather is expected just in time for Boilermaker. Sunshine with highs in the low 80s on Saturday and mid 80s on Sunday. The humidity will stay comfortable. Be sure to check out the start time temperature forecast tomorrow morning.

Hazy, hot, and humid Monday before the next cold front cools us off by Tuesday."

IN THE MAIL

From Sandy Martin: "The Colorful Bonnets met at Paolo's 'Finish Line Cafe' in Utica fot their June get-together. Sixteen members attended and most of them had the grilled chicken salad which consisted of a generous tossed salad with black olives & grilled chichen and fruit. Served for dessert was the most wonderful Tiramisu (an Italian cake). Along with lunch wewere sung to in Italian by a very nice lady. She and her husband run the cafe and made our visit very enjoyable. After lunch many of the members shopped in the attached gift shop called 'the Shoppes at the Finishing Line' and later some of the members went on to the Munson Williams Proctor exhibit of Antique Wedding Gowns. Thanks go out to Milly and Irene for arranging such a pleasant day. Our July meeting will be announced shortly and will probably be in the form of a picnic."

(Thanks, Sandy!)
