77 degrees at 6 o'clock

"The heat wave continues today, though it will not be as dangerously hot as it was yesterday. An exceptionally mild start to the day, with overnight lows only bottoming out near 80! This afternoon, we'll climb into the low 90s with some humidity still in the air. Another dry, sunny day. Partly cloudy tonight with overnight lows in the upper 60s.

A hot start to the weekend, with highs on Saturday approaching 90 degrees. Cooler by Sunday, with highs in the mid 80s. Both days are expected to be dry with a mix of sunshine and clouds.

A cold front arrives late Monday into Tuesday with widespread thunderstorms. Temperatures settle back into the 80s for the middle of next week. The heat may return again by the end of next week."

Yesterday, at 4:00, in Hanover.

4:15, on Main Street.

The paving crew must have been as glad that most of the work on Berrill Avenue has been completed as are motorists, who are turning the street into the village's newest speedway!

Benefiting most of the heat? Corn!

Were it not for my self-imposed rule against publishing photographs of children, I could have taken dozens of pictures, yesterday, of youngsters - and even some grownups! - running through sprinklers and splashing in wading pools! Perhaps today I'll stop and join them!
