IN THE MAIL

From Les Risley - published in Ocala Star-Banner:

Donald Doyle Jackson

1938 - 2011

"Donald Doyle Jackson, passed away on April 16, 2011 with his family at his side. His family fulfilled his dying wish, to see his daughter get married, by his bedside hours before he passed. This dedication to him is evidence of the legacy that Don leaves behind. Don was a true family man who was known to take vacation time from work to do projects at his children's homes. He enjoyed grilling, playing horseshoes, and family gatherings. He had recently enjoyed several fishing afternoons and a hunting trip with his sons. Don was born to Elmer and Anne Jackson on November 19, 1938 in Utica, New York. He was raised and lived in Waterville, New York prior to moving to Ocala in 1979. Don is survived by his truly devoted wife of 47 years, Sandy; his daughter Jennifer and her husband Jerry Schad; his son Sean and his wife Kendrea; and his son James & his wife Dawn Marie, all of Ocala. His favorite job was Papa to six grandsons- Michael, Ryan, Cody, Carter, Campbell, and Collier, all of Ocala. He is also survived by his sister Joan and her husband Stanley Krawiec of Chesapeake, VA and his sister Marilyn Seeber of Virginia Beach, VA. Don's brother Roderick Jackson and Paul Jackson predeceased him. There are also several extended family members and friends that will grieve for his loss. Viewing will be at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 910 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala on Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mass services for the funeral will be held at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. Graveside services immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donation to Hospice of Marion County, 3231 SW 34th Ave, Ocala, FL 34474 to honor the exceptional care they provided Don and his family."

LOOKING AHEAD

The Tuesday afternoon weather forecast from WKTV: "Showers will continue this evening as a warm front approaches. Heavy rain, perhaps even a rumble of thunder are expected early tomorrow morning as the front lifts north. Temperatures will be warmer after the frontal passage, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Cooler weather arrives again on Thursday, with more wind and a chance of flurries. Sunshine and nicer on Friday, with highs returning to the mid 50s.

Easter weekend looks seasonable with a chance for rain showers both Saturday and Sunday."
